Wife of murdered prison officer pleads: ‘Find David’s killers’

THE wife of murdered prison officer David Black has made a heartfelt appeal to catch her husband’s killers.

In an interview televised on Thursday night, Mrs Black appealed to anyone with information on the prison officer’s murder to come forward.

She also released treasured family photos of her beloved husband on on the four week anniversary of his death.

The pictures include Mr Black on his 52nd birthday in August; with wife Yvonne and children Kyle and Kyra on a family holiday to Dubai and the family of four on son Kyle’s 21st birthday.

The Northern Ireland Prison officer is also pictured with his wife Yvonne at Christmas dinner last year.

It has been four weeks since Mr Black, who was from the Orritor Road area of the town, was murdered by dissident republicans on his way to work.

A number of people have been arrested in connection with his murder, but no one has been charged.

The dad-of-two was shot dead in a carefully planned ambush as he drove along the M1 motorway to work at Maghaberry top-security prison on 1 November.

A dissident republican organisation styling itself as a new IRA admitted responsibility for the murder.

Mr Black was the first prison officer to be targeted by paramilitaries for nearly 20 years.
