Witnesses sought after Larne ‘hit and run’

Police are appealing for information following a report of a hit and run collision in Larne.

The collision occurred in the Old Glenarm Road area of the town on Thursday, July 9, but details have only been released by the PSNI.

It is believed the incident took place sometime between 1pm and 1.30 pm on that afternoon.

Damage was caused to the back of a white Honda Civic which had been parked in the area. It is reported it was hit by a white van which then left the scene.

Appealing for information, Inspector Aaron Brown said: “I would ask anyone who has information that could assist us with our enquiries or anyone who witnessed this incident to contact police in Larne on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 862 of 09/07/20.

“Information can also be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100 per cent anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
