Woman and child ‘uninjured’ after Carrick petrol bomb attack

Detectives are working to establish a motive for a “reckless” petrol bomb attack in Carrickfergus last night (September 29).

The incident at a property in Schomberg Court was reported to police at around 9.10pm.

Police attended the scene, along with the NIFRS, where damage was caused to a window and to the front of the property.

Two people, a woman and a boy, who were in the property at the time were uninjured.

Detective Constable Douglas said: “We believe this was a petrol bomb attack and we are working to establish a motive for this reckless act.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area last night, at around 9pm, and saw what happened, or has information which may help our investigation to call our detectives in Ballymena on 101 and quote reference number 1879 of 29/09/20 or submit a report online using our non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/
