Woman charged with manslaughter of Coleraine pensioner

AN Antrim woman has appeared in court charged with the manslaughter of Coleraine pensioner Bertie Acheson.

Jennifer Toland (23), is accused of the manslaughter of Mr Acheson, who died from a heart attack following a break-in at his Mountsandel home on April 30.

At Ballymena Magistrates Court, District Judge Des Perry banned the publication of a number of aspects relating to the case due to an ongoing police investigation.

Toland was granted bail and ordered to reside with her parents during the course of the police investigation.

She is due back in court again on November 29.
