WOMAN STABBED IN HOME

A 19-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with attempted murder following an incident at Belvedere Manor on Sunday afternoon.

Michael Gregory Burke, of no fixed abode, appeared at Lisburn Magistrate’s Court on Monday and was remanded in custody, due to return to Craigavon Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.

The charges follow an incident in which a 21-year-old girl was stabbed at a house in Belvedere Manor at 1.40pm on Sunday.

A community was in shock as Victoria Wright was left fighting for her life on Sunday after receiving a stab wound to her back.

After being rushed to hospital it’s understood the victim was in a critical condition, however, the prayers of her family, friends and neighbours were answered when she showed signs of recovery following treatment.

Victoria remains in a serious condition in hospital while police investigate the incident.
