Woman threatened with hammer during hospital car park robbery in Co Antrim
A female motorist has been left shocked after being robbed by a hammer-wielding thug in a hospital car park.
Police have said the woman was parked outside the outpatients department at Whiteabbey Hospital, Newtownabbey when she was approached by a man wearing a surgical mask around 2pm on Tuesday.
She handed over her handbag and jewellery – including her engagement ring – after being threatened by the robber, who is described as being approximately 5’5” tall and wearing a navy coloured coat, cap and blue jeans.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
