Criminal damage warning for egg-hurling youths in Ballycastle

Egg-throwing youths are warned of the potentially serious consequences of their actions in Ballycastle.

Recently police have received reports of young people targeting cars and property in the Quay Road, Leyland Road and Dalriada Gardens areas of the town.

“Not only is it a waste of eggs, it’s also anti-social behaviour and could result in police dealing with you for criminal damage if the eggs cause damage to vehicles or property,” stated PSNI North Coast.

“Worse still, what if the egg lands on the windscreen of a moving vehicle and obstructs the driver’s view of the road? Then you might have an accident on your conscience.”
