Crowds flock to Ballymoney Agricultural Show

CROWDS flocked to the 105th Ballymoney Show on Saturday.

Among those mixing with the throng at the Ballymoney Showgrounds was Mayor, Ian Stevenson.

And visitors came from far and wide including James McCurdy from Ballycastle.

“It was a brilliant day out and it was good to see so many smiling faces. Ballymoney Show is a real institution in north Antrim and long may it continue,” he said.

Livestock was brought along from all over the Province to be judged and trade stands attracted plenty of custom on another successful Show.

The Show is rightly regarded as one of the best organised in the Province and is not only an opportunity for the farming community to showcase their animals, but a treat for family with plenty of sideshows and attractions to keep everyone occupied.

Saturday’s weather may have kept some farmers at home working on silage, but the interest in the show doesn’t wane and those in charge can reflect on another successful event.

The standard of exhibits was said to be as good as ever and the impressive parade of Grand prize winners led by a cavalcade of vintage tractors underscored the reputation of an event that looks set to continue for many years to come.
