Crufts success for local family
Albert Ritchie and his granddaughter Danielle, 11, were delighted to see Leo, Demerlay Vanilla Sky Over Gwendariff JW, a Junior English Champion, do so well at the prestigious event in the Birmingham NEC.
Albert said he was “over the moon” following the event, which saw Moira Primary School pupil Danielle achieve third in the Young Kennel Club Handling Class out of ten competitors on her first time showing.

“This was Danielle’s first time at Crufts and the two girls who finished above her have been handling for three years. In fact afterwards two people approached Danielle saying they would like her to show for them.”
Leo, a two and a half year old, was first out of 23 competitors in the Mid Limit Dog, which brought great pride to Albert.
“He’s a great dog,” said Albert. “Danielle did so well, for somene at just 11 years of age, it was wonderful.”
