The local business has been shortlisted in the category of Best Renewables Installation within the Education, Healthcare and Public Sector.

Acknowledged for their Solar PV project undertaken between December 2014 to March 2015 which saw the installation of 12kW solar PV systems at over 180 primary and secondary schools across Northern Ireland.

This resulted in an estimated £5m savings to schools over the next 20 years, Solmatix has assisted local education boards to benefit from significant cost savings as well as largely reduced carbon footprints for their facilities.

Facing ultra-tight delivery deadlines and extreme winter weather, the Solmatix team has accomplished a remarkable logistical feat through the timely installation and commissioning of the solar systems as well as transforming the face of energy delivery for our schools sector over the next 20 years.

Now in their seventh year, the Action Renewables awards, sponsored by Tughans Solicitors and electricity supplier Vayu, are gearing up for their biggest year yet, set to take place at the historic Belfast Harbour Commissioner’s Office on Friday night.

The awards recognise and reward leading examples of renewables in practice across Northern Ireland.
