Crumlin girl has hopes to be the Face of NI

A CRUMLIN teenager is hoping to be crowned the ‘Face of Northern Ireland’.

19 year old Maria Mallon has been selected as a finalist in the Face of Northern Ireland Beauty Pageant which takes place in the Bannville Country House Hotel on Thursday September 22.

Maria is studying at the University of Ulster Belfast where she has just completed a Fine Art Diploma and is about to begin a Design for Visual Communication Degree to be a Graphic Designer.

Maria commented: “Unlike other competitions there are no entry requirements, as it’s a pageant to celebrate women of all shapes and sizes. I am very proud to be a part of it.”

She added: “Petticoat Lane Bridal in Hillsborough kindly agreed to sponsor my evening dress for the final. Katie Lamour is the owner and helped me choose my dress and I would like to thank her.”

The winning lady will go on to represent Northern Ireland in the grand final of the Face of Europe competition which is taking place in Disneyland Paris.
