Crumlin goes crafty with event

Crumlin Community Centre was a bustling hive of stalls, crafts, computers and cooking recently at the 12 ‘DIY’ Days of Christmas fair.

This was the first event organised as part of the Antrim Borough Council Volunteer Facilitator Programme.

Crumlin residents of all ages enjoyed displays of arts, crafts and cooking. The children had a special Kid’s Craft Corner whilst mum and dads had a go at activities including flower arranging and a quick chat about how to save money over the expensive festive period. It was also a great opportunity to meet with the local groups from the area, find out what they do and how people can get involved.

Fiona Kidd, of Antrim Borough Council said, “It was fantastic to see a wide variety of people and groups come together and enjoy learning about volunteering. I would like to thank Crumlin Oil Club, Crumlin Flower Club, Camlin Credit Union, QUB Origami Club, Tesco Crumlin Community Champion and the Northern Regional College’s Living and Learning Programme for making this event possible.”
