Crunch time for Carrick quiz team

Flock of Seagulls competed at the local heat in The Windrose Bar and will now travel to Belfast in a bid to win a tasty 1,000.

The competition is being run by leading crisp brand McCoy’s and United Biscuits’ marketing manager, Niamh O’Dea, wishes the team well.

She said: “I know the heat was a closely fought contest so I’d like to congratulate Flock of Seagulls’ captain Mandy Craig and her team on getting this far and wish them well in the final, which is taking place later this month in Belfast’s Jude’s Bar. I suppose the key question now is… which region has produced the brainiest team?”
