CRY Screening Clinic invitation

CRY has announced that there will be a Screening Clinic at the Coleraine Campus of the University of Ulster on Satuday and Sunday, March 10 and 11.

There is no charge for anyone wishing to get screened and local CRY representative John Lundy is encouraging local people to get screened.

“Thanks to the generosity of local people through fundraising activities we have been able to offer the 2012 Screenings at no charge to people wishing to get screened,” said John.

“Screening is as important as ever. Young people continue to be affected by cardiac conditions which are life threatening. We believe screening helps saves lives.”

John pointed to the fundraising efforts locally as an example of the commitment to screening in this area but he added:

“The likes of the local Causeway Spar Retail Group raised funds through their corporate Golf Day and we had ongoing fundraising by local young people running the Belfast and London Marathons.

“This has meant we have been able to provide these clinics locally. We would encourage young people involved in sport, those people whose families have a history of heart conditions and anyone who feels they wish to get checked out to come along to the clinic.”

The screening comprises an ECG which can be followed up by an Echocardiogram if required. A CRY Cardiologist is also present at the clinic to discuss any concerns people may have.
