Cubitt welcomes Ballykelly facilities

LIMAVADY Councillor Leslie Cubitt has welcomed the building of toilets and a children’s play park in Ballykelly.

The UUC representative said community group’s in the area had been fighting for the facilities for seven years.

Councillor Cubitt said: “The community association in Ballykelly is to be congratulated for the long, hard fight for these facilities. Ballykelly was deprived of toilets and a suitable play park which every other area in the borough had. I have been working with community representatives over the last seven years and we are happy to see now that they are now taking form and being built. This is despite numerous objections over the years by Sinn Fein and the SDLP.”

Both facilities are now under construction, the play park is close to the Drummond Manor area. The town’s new toilets will be situated just off the Main Street behind Tommy’s Chippy.
