Cullybackey fire may be arson

Police in Ballymena are appealing for information about a fire that destroyed a shed and oil tank at Cullybackey.

The fire service turned out to at Tober Park at around 11.30pm on Saturday, 27th, after reports of a fire at a shed and oil tank. A number of people were moved from nearby houses as a precaution.

Detective Inspector Carmichael said the cause of the fire was being treated as suspicious. He said police were keen to hear from anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area after 11pm.

And police believe that damage caused to a car at Tober Park may have been linked to the fire. A rear window of the Renault Megane was broken at about 3am on Sunday.
