Cullybackey well pleased with results

STAFF and pupils of Cullybackey High School are delighted with the GCSE results issued for the summer examinations.

The overall results were very good, though 1% down on last years record results. On an individual basis, however, the results were excellent and certainly some of the best ever achieved at this level.

On an individual basis: Hannah Gillespie achieved 6A*, 1A, 1C; Ryan Young 5A*, 2A, 2B; Thomas Toner 4A*, 4A, 1C; Taylor Davidson 4A*, 2A, 1B, 1C; Ileanna McDowell 3A*, 3A, 1B, 1C; Laura Beattie, Sarah Coulter, Corey Price and Lauren Millar also scored excellent results. On a departmental basis results in excess of 90% A*-C were achieved by Construction, Information Technology, Child Development, Music, Office Technology and Hospitality.

Once again congratulations must be offered to the many pupils who have worked hard and achieved to very high levels. The excellent teaching of all the staff and the ongoing support of parents is fundamental to all of our success and once again we thank all of those involved in making education at Cullybackey High School both an enjoyable and a successful experience.

A record number of students are now in the process of entry for sixth form studies at Cullybackey and elsewhere and many are pursuing further studies at the Northern Regional College. The world of work has attracted many others.

We congratulate our students and wish them well for the future.
