Cullycapple pupils bring books to life

CULLYCAPPLE Primary School pupils celebrated World Book Day in style last week.

The children received free book tokens as well as a visit from a very special guest who told stories and folktales of Northern Ireland.

A huge thank you to Morris Todd who held the children spellbound with his recollection of spooky and exciting tales of old.

P4 and P5 pupils have even begun to plan and write their own folktales as they are studying Northern Ireland in a new topic. Thanks again to Mr Todd for all his excellent inspiration.

On Friday the school was taken over by fictional characters from novels and reading books - everyone from Little Red Riding Hood to Ben Ten to Pippi Longstocking.

Even the teachers and classroom assistants joined in the character parade. Well done everybody on a very enjoyable Book Week.
