Cunningham welcomes removal of planning fee
Ballycastle SDLP Councillor Dónal Cunningham has welcomed the new legislation prepared by Environment Minister Mark H Durkan which will remove fees from planning applications made by non-profit making organisations.
Councillor Cunningham said “Currently non-profit making organisations pay a fee equivalent to half of what the normal expected fee would be, despite this concession many community and voluntary groups simply cannot afford to progress vital community projects”.
“These changes will be a major boost to community groups and will be very welcome in our local neighbourhoods and communities who seek to develop projects for their local areas.”
