‘Cup Cake’ Gala raises £1,927

A Gala Movie Evening hosted by Ballymoney Mayor, Bill Kennedy, in Ballymoney Town Hall on Wednesday 6th April to celebrate the award winning film “Cup Cake” has raised £1,927 for the Community Rescue Service.

“The event itself to celebrate our “movie town” was a huge success and at the same time we have been able to donate the proceeds to a very worthy cause”. Commented Mayor Kennedy.

The Community rescue Service operates entirely by volunteers from communities all across Northern Ireland. The greater Ballymoney area is covered by the Bush Unit under Unit Commander, Margaret Elliott. The Bush Unit works closely with units in Coleraine and Ballycastle to cover the North Antrim area.

“Cup Cake” was shot on location in Ballymoney in 2009 by Belfast Film Production Company, Wee Buns Limited
