Curragh’s buzzing start to the summer

CURRAGH YFC has had a busy summer so far. Three members went to Curragh Orange Hall to help with catering at the Junior Strong Man competition. Everyone who attended had a great time.

On June 6 the club held their annual Treasure Hunt. Everyone gathered at St Lurachs Church car park, Maghera and were given their questions sheets. 19 cars hit the road in a friendly competition.

As the competitors travelled around Maghera searching for the hidden clues set by Sam Crockett we saw some great sportsmanship between competitors as they searched their minds trying to find the answers.

Silence fell on the room as Sam announced the winners and our club leader Kyle Irwin congratulated the winners and gave them their prizes

Everyone had an enjoyable evening.

To end the month of June members prepared for Beef and Sheep Judging by having a practise night at Richard Hyndersons farm where he answered all the members questions on sheep and beef.

On the 28th members put their skills to the test as they Judged the beef and sheep against all the other clubs in County Londonderry. Hannah Lennox was placed 3rd in the age group 14-16 in beef judging and is now through to the Northern Ireland Final at Green Mount Campus on the 19th July.
