Cushendall Road to close for five weeks for sewer scheme

Essential sewer improvement work will necessitate the closure of Cushendall Road for up to five weeks from July 1, Northern Ireland Water has said.

The works will involve installing a new storm sewer between the Cushendall Road Cul-de-sac and the roundabout.

A NIW spokesperson said: “Once complete, this £110,000 project will be good news for the local area, as the new sewers will improve the sewerage infrastructure in the area and reduce the risk of out of sewer flooding.

“Due to the location of the new storm sewer, it will unfortunately be necessary to close the Cushendall Road to through traffic from the Cul-de-sac to the roundabout for the duration of the works. However, a diversion will be signposted via Grove Road, Ballymoney Road and Parkway...every effort will be made to keep disruption to a minimum.”
