Custody ‘appropriate place’ for Magherafelt man, says judge.
A young Magherafelt man was jailed for eight months at the local Magistrates Court yesterday for public order offences.
Mark Francis Kennedy (24), of Greenvale Park, admitted a total of 10 charges including assault on police, disorderly behaviour and criminal damage arising out of two separate incidents at Queen’s Street, Magherafelt, on October 3 and 10 last year.
District Judge Alan White said Kennedy had been given many chances by the court which he did not take.
He said he agreed with the probation report that custody was the appropriate place for him.
