Customs and exiles

SOME people think there must be more to life than daily routine struggle. Some people think life is about duty or adventure. Some people abuse the system before it uses them. Some people think too much and say too little. Some people do all of these things on the same day!

Gerry Malone left his job as a Customs Officer in Dublin Airport in 1986 and headed away to the USA. Now it is 1988 and he is back working with Customs and Excise…. but this time he is on the border, between a small Donegal village called Carrigans and the big Northern Ireland city called lots of things.

Customs & Exiles is a darkly comedic look at life on the Irish land frontier in 1988 with regard to language, literature, history, religion, politics and the pursuit of local sexual congress on a global scale.
