Cuts seal fate of custody suite

“The PSNI like other Government departments is not immune from the difficult choices that they have to face,” he said.

“Sadly a few months ago a prisoner tragically died in the custody suite, following a full investigation into this incident, several major recommendations were made to update the custody facilities.

“The PSNI are facing a reduction of 36 Million in their budget, With these savage cuts being imposed on the Police by the Minister, it is somewhat understandable that the half a million pounds needed to carry out this work, could not be found at this time.”
