Cycle around the globe
To mark World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10, an event ‘Cycle Around the Globe’ will be taking place in the Colin area to raise awareness about mental health issues and suicidal behaviour, ideation and connectedness.
‘Cycle Around the Globe’ is a worldwide initiative and the South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust is encouraging as many people as possible to come along and participate in the event which will be held in Sally Gardens Community Centre (Poleglass) on September 10 which will run from 9am – 9pm.
The challenge is to collectively cycle the circumference of the globe 40,075km or 24,900 miles and to have participants cycling together on every continent.
There will be spin cycles available and it is hoped to clock up as many miles as possible to help mark the day.
