Dairy theme for Maghaberry ladies

Olive and Nadine gave a very interesting talk on Dale Farm informing the ladies where the plants were and what each one made, emphasising the fact that all their products are Northern Ireland produce and made locally.

They were then treated to an in depth talk on Cheddar Cheese, its making, different strengths and maturing times, etc. There was a tasting of each cheese, working their way through the different strengths of maturity.

It was a very interesting evening, confirming we should really try all types of cheese rather than always buy the same.

Congratulations were extended to award winners Lynsay and Norma for their handicraft entries and Amanda for her poem in the WI magazine, which was a winner for the second time. The competition for Cheese Scones was won by Lynsay Johnston.
