“Building relationships with potential international clients by attending food exhibitions like Gulfood in Dubai and SIAL in Paris opens up a host of new exporting opportunities for Northern Ireland producers. Clearly, this has been the case for Dale Farm with this latest Russian order.”

Commenting on the order Dale Farm’s Group Chief Executive, David Dobbin, said: “We see Russia and China as key growth markets for our export sales and are delighted to win this order, which is the result of the market development work done by our sales team who have been well supported by Invest NI.”

Arlene Foster was in the United Arab Emirates last week on a trade development mission, during which she attended the Gulfood exhibition to support companies on Invest NI’s ‘Northern Ireland Naturally’ stand.

Other food companies that have won business in the UAE include Glenarm Salmon and Mash Direct.

The Minister added: “I have been very impressed by the companies representing Northern Ireland in this competitive market. The Gulfood exhibition is not only huge in scale, it also offered huge opportunities to bring Northern Ireland produce to the global market.”
