Dalriada win Best School Initiative

DALRIADA School have been awarded Best School Initiative in the second annual Action Renewables Association Awards in Belfast.

Sponsored by RES Uk and Ireland Ltd., Michael Doran, Action Renewables, said the judges awarded Dalriada the title for their exceptional use of debate and critical assessment of renewables in lessons, their use of renewable technologies across subject area to enhance teaching and learning leading to an overall improvement of the curriculum through renewables and their passion for the subject demonstrated by both staff and students especially within the geography department.

Ballymoney High and Our Lady of Lourdes finished runners-up.

Sixteen public and private organisations including Dalriada School, Ballymoney battled it out to take away one of the eight highly coveted environmental awards.

Mrs Helen Leighton and Mrs Anna McCandless on behalf of Dalriada School Geography Department.

Runners up - Our Lady of Lourdes, Ballymoney, Ballymoney High School, Ballymoney, Cambridge House Grammar, Ballymena, Coleraine Inst., Coleraine and St Louis Grammar School, Ballymena.
