Damask Community Outreach holds celebration service

A SERVICE of thanksgiving to mark the work of Damask Community Outreach was held in Seymour Street Methodist Church on the morning of Sunday March 25.

Local City Councillors and MLA’s joined a packed congregation at which Damask Chairman Rev Brian Anderson spoke warmly and appreciatively of the support the Group had received from the Council and other Statutory Agencies. Details of the Damask Programme were given by Damask Member Shirley Carrington who highlighted the success and value of many of the activities that had taken place and are planned.

These included Computer Training, Benefits Drop In Advice, Building the Community Pharmacy Partnership Programme, Car Boot Sales, Tea Dances and a Family Fun Day to be held in June of this year.

A presentation from Damask Partner ‘Storehouse’ told of its work and expressed appreciation of the contribution the Seymour Street Congregation had made to the provision of food for needy families in the area.

In his address Mr Anderson challenged the Congregation to put their faith into practice by involvement in the local Community and referred to the great relationships that had already be established.
