Danny Kennedy re-elected to Stormont

Ulster Unionist Party's Danny Kennedy has been reelected to the NI Assembly after two other Unionists were eliminated.

Earlier Tandragee man and independent Paul Berry was eliminated as was Ulster Unionist Sam Nicholson.

Mr Kennedy was finally elected to the Newry and Armagh constituency at 12.10am this morning (Saturday).

Earlier the DUP’s William Irwin topped the poll.

Also elected are Meagan Fearon of Sinn Fein and party colleague Cathal Boylan.

Two seats are left and it is thought they will be filled as the count continues in Newry and Armagh this morning.
