Daring haul of £25,000

A LURGAN gents outfitting firm was the victim of an audacious Christmas robbery in 1986.

The thieves, whom police said must have used a large vehicle to load up their haul, made off with £25,000 worth of goods, including a range of expensive sheepskin coats.

Other property taken from the premises of Maxwell’s in Union Street included suits, blazers, woollen pullovers, trousers, jeans, bodywarmers and towelling robes.

The gents sheepskin coats were grey and tan in colour.
