Daring supporters go to new heights for Marie Curie Cancer Care

MARIE Curie Cancer Care is calling on daring Ulster Star readers to take part in the Zipwire challenge across the Lagan River on Saturday, May 19, and help raise valuable funds for the charity.

Now in its fifth year, the Lagan River Zipwire will see participants ascend 140ft in a crane basket and zipping from one side of the Lagan to the other at 40mph.

All the funds raised from the Zipwire challenge will help Marie Curie Nurses provide more free care to people with terminal cancer and other illnesses in their own homes and in the Marie Curie Hospice, Belfast.

Ruth Hope, Events Fundraiser for Northern Ireland at Marie Curie Cancer Care, said: “This is a perfect opportunity for thrill-seekers to take on a new challenge and enjoy spectacular views of Belfast, while helping to raise valuable funds to support Marie Curie Nurses. By taking part, supporters will be helping to make a significant difference to people with terminal illnesses and their families across Northern Ireland.”
