“We have quite a ‘rogue’s gallery’ at present and would like to build on it for the auditorium.

“Old and new are welcome and please feel free to call me on the number above so I can arrange to collect them.”

The present band is still very active and feels proud to have won the Best Overall band at this year’s Twelfth of July event in Ballymena.

This band has a very youthful feel to it at present and has worked hard for this past three years to bring the youngsters from all around the Ballymena area up to a very decent standard of musical ability.

“The youth in the Ballykeel band are the envy of many bands around the country”, Allister goes on to say, and “they travel to every corner of Ulster and perform surprisingly well in front of the best bands about. It is hard to believe that we can boast solo players from the age of 9 years and up.”

The local outfit are starting a learner class.
