David McWilliams tribute CD helps raise funds for ‘Oh Yeah’ Centre

A CD tribute to the life and musical talent of David McWilliams has raised vital funds for the ‘Oh Yeah’ Centre in Belfast.

The proceeds were handed over to the Centre by Shona McWilliams during a special commemoration evening on Friday for David organised by the David McWilliams Foundation.

Formerly known as the David McWilliams Appreciation Society, it was formed by Colin Agnew to mark the life and musical talents of David and to encourage new local Northern Irish musical talent.

The Foundation produced a double Tribute CD featuring 22 local artists singing one of David’s songs in their own genre and decided to give the proceeds to the Oh Yeah Centre.

Based in Belfast, the Centre is designed to promote music in all forms and has created an environment where people can learn new musical skills and hone existing ones.
