David’s cycle ride for British Heart Foundation

David was just happy to have made a full recovery and by way of saying thankyou he decided to raise money for those who had helped him.

A keen cyclist, David began collecting sponsorship and after completing around 30 miles, he handed over £1200 to the British Heart Foundation.

At the end of June, David is planning to do it all again by cycling from Ballymoney to Portrush, then on to Bushmills and back home via Derrykeighan and Dervock. He hopes to be joined by a close friend, David Clydesdale, from Banbridge and by his neice.

Last week at Ballymoney Town Hall, David was joined by the Mayor of Ballymoney, Councillor Ian Stevenson, the Deputy Mayor, Councillor Tom McKeown and the Lead Volunteer for BHF in Northern Ireland, Jamie Walker.

They were all there to wish David all the best and to commend him for his efforts for such a good cause.

Jamie Walker, who has raised some £30,000 for his charity, commented: “I am very proud that David is doing this for a second time. It makes it so much easier for me when someone else is doing the fund-raising.”

Good wishes were also extended by the Mayor and Cllr. McKeown who both hoped David would have a safe and pleasant journey.
