Davy Thompson Memorial Shield in conjunction with the Imperial Bar
The Fund set up six years ago by Davy’s wife Betty and daughter Laura has currently raised over £4500 in memory of a loving husband and father. Betty and Laura regularly produce greeting cards for family and friends with all proceeds in aid of the Fund. Davy’s former work colleagues also held an annual football tournament to help raise funds.
Originally the match was billed as ‘Tha Pride o’ tha Toon’ Cup with the winners gaining bragging rights for the season.

Without hesitation both Clubs agreed and the Davy Thompson Memorial Shield was reborn with both Clubs agreeing to donate £160 each towards the Fund.
Kick-off is at 1pm and Sam Martin will have the unenviable task of being the referee for the day.
The match has been organised in conjunction with the Imperial Bar, Ballymoney who are sponsoring the pitch hire as well as providing a buffet for all participants and supporters. A raffle will also be held and the draw will take place in the bar after the match. Glebe Rangers Football Club has also kindly agreed to supply the footballs for the match.
