Dawn burglars disturbedand escaped towards border

Two '˜peep of day' burglars were disturbed during a break-in on the outskirts of Londonderry and escaped in the direction of the Donegal border on Wednesday, according to the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI).

The PSNI in Londonderry say they are investigating a report of the attempted burglary, which is believed to have occurred at a house in the Woodbrook area in the early hours of Wednesday, June 29.

Two males were disturbed at the house shortly after 5am and made off on foot in the direction of the Skeoge Road. Both were described as being around 5’8” tall.

One wore a dark coloured padded jacket with a furry hood whilst the other wore a dark coloured tracksuit.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland have asked anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the wider Upper Galliagh area on the outskirts of Londonderry to contact them in Strand Road on 101 quoting reference the reference number 140 29/06/16.
