DCC Director appointed through an agency
AN ‘Interim Strategic Director’ was recruited to Derry City Council through an employment agency and was brought in as a temporary measure to fill the gap left following Oonagh McGillion’s appointment as Director of Legacy.
A spokesperson for Derry City Council confirmed Peter Appleton had been appointed through an agency.
“The temporary appointment was made to provide the Council with a suitable candidate as an interim measure for a short-term period to fill the gap left following Oonagh McGillion’s appointment as the Director of Legacy and to cover the period until we appointed a Strategic Director.

Hide Ad“The recruitment process for the Strategic Director is currently ongoing , the Council is in the process of short-listing and dates for interviews have been scheduled. The interim arrangements are expected to remain in place until the appointment of the full time position,” the spokesperson stated.
