DCC submits bid for new Top of theHill play provision

Derry City Council has applied for planning permission for a new play area in Top of the Hill.

The application - for an open space at Rose Court - requests permission for an Environmental Improvement Scheme including a path network, street furniture and landscaping.

The park will be geared towards children up to the age of 14 years and will be open from 9am to dusk in both summer and winter.

Drawings submitted with the planning application suggest the park will include an aerial runway, scramble net, embankment slide, swings, roundabout, air gliders, rockers and junior and toddler play areas.

The fenced in park will be located at lands adjacent to 13, 19 and 34 Rose Court, where a former park previously was located, but which has been derelict for some time.
