Dead woman's name released by PSNI

POLICE in Londonderry have officially released the name of the woman found dead in suspicious circumstances in the city on Tuesday morning.

45-year-old Paula Carlin's body was found at Clonmeen Drive in the Strathfoyle area of Londonderry at 8am on January 12.

Two men, both aged 21, have been arrested in connection with the death. One of the men, is Liam Carlin, the son of the deceased. The other man has been named as Kevin Downey. Both men appeared at court in connection with death this morning. The PSNI have now been granted more time to question the pair.

A statement from the PSNI in Londonderry today said they were releasing the name of the deceased in an effort to trace her whereabouts in the days before her death.

The statement said: "Forty five years old Paula Carlin's body was discovered at her home in the Clonmeen area on Tuesday January 11. At this stage her death is being treated as suspicious.

Officers are making an appeal for anyone who knew Paula, and saw her between Saturday and Tuesday, to contact them . They would also like to speak to anyone who was in the Clonmeen Drive area on Tuesday. The number to call is 0845 600 8000 and ask for detectives in Maydown."
