'˜Death drivers' lambasted by Sinn Fein

'˜Death drivers' who invaded a Lurgan estate at the weekend could have killed or seriously injured people, a local councillor has said.

Sinn Fein councillor Keith Haughian condemned the behaviour of three carloads of ‘death drivers’ on Saturday night.

“Between 11pm and midnight, residents of Kilwilke and Lurgan Tarry were subjected to the reckless driving of three individuals and their passengers,” he said.

“Driving at excessive speeds and doing doughnuts in a built up area could have caused death or serious injury.

“I would appeal for local residents who have not gone forward to please contact the PSNI or Sinn Féin with any details regarding this so the culprits can be dealt with.

“The message is clear - the community do not want this,” said Cllr Haughian.

PSNI Inspector Brian Mills said: “While we are not aware of any specific reports in relation to dangerous driving in those areas on Saturday night we would ask anyone who has information or concerns to contact us on the non-emergency number 101.”
