Mr Patton had an in-depth knowledge of the history of Stranocum and recently made a valuable contribution to a new book which is being compiled at present charting the historical data of the village up to 150 years ago.

He attended a meeting in the Community hall earlier this year when the project was official launched and made him-self available for interview by the book’s authors providing vital information that few others could have given.

On the night Mr Patton proved a popular figure with his insight into the people, buildings and stories of the past.

The project leader of the initiative, Nicola Lennon, interviewed Mr Patton on behalf of Stranocum and District Community Association and his contribution will be one of the main features.
