Deaths in the community

The death took place, peacefully at Aughnacloy House, on January 20 of Derek Adams of Pinebank, Craigavon.

He was the husband of the late Margaret, father of Donna, Gemma and Martin, father-in-law of Tom, Colum and Alison, and grandfather of Adam, Kirsty, Naomi, Courtney, Victoria and Megan,

His funeral was on 
Friday to St Anthony’s Church with interment afterwards in St Colman’s Cemetery.

Sheila Smyth

The death took place on January 20, peacefully at home, of Sheila Smyth, Oakridge, Lurgan.

She was the wife of Robin and mother of Michael, Dwyer and Ronan,

Her funeral was on 
Thursday to St Paul’s Church with interment afterwards in St Colman’s Cemetery.

Alex McCartney

The death took place on January 21 of Alex McCartney, baby boy of Stephen and Joanne and little brother to Aimee and Lily.

A service to celebrate Alex’s life was held in Lurgan Church of the Nazarene on Saturday followed by burial in Lurgan Cemetery.

Laurence Joseph Casey

The death took place on January 22, suddenly at home, of Laurence Joseph Casey, Hill Court, Lurgan.

He was the father of Lee and Stephen, son of the late Brendan and Ruby Casey and brother of Sharon, 
Dennis, Catherine, Noel, Joanne, Brenda and Gary.

His funeral was on Monday to St Peter’s Church with burial afterwards in St Colman’s Cemetery.

Alan Silcock

The death took place on January 22 at hospital of Alan (Plumber) Silcock, late of Desmesne Avenue, Lurgan.

He was the father of Dean, Karen, Keith, Tracy, Alana and the late Alan.

His funeral was on Saturday in the Salvation Army 
Citadel in Union Street.

Elizabeth Cunningham

The death took place on January 25, peacefully at hospital in her 99th year, of Elizabeth Jane Cunningham, formerly of Drumgask.

She was the wife of the late David and mother of Barbara, Jim, Freddie, Miriam and Freda.

Her funeral service in Knocknamuckley Parish Church took place on Tuesday followed by interment in the adjoining churchyard.

Caroline Crookshanks

The death took place on January 24, peacefully at hospital, of Caroline 
Crookshanks.

She was the wife of Desmond and mother of Sonia and Maxine.

Her funeral took place in Magheralin Parish Church on Tuesday followed by interment in the adjoining churchyard.
