Deaths in the community

Lilian McCartan

The death took place on March 20 of Lilian McCartan of Thornhill Park, peacefully at Lurgan Hospital.

She was the wife of the late Tom and mother of Margaret, Liz and the late David.

Her funeral was on Saturday from her home to Lurgan Cemetery.

Mary McGeown

The death took place peacefully at Lurgan Hospital on March 20 of Mary Elizabeth McGeown, of Lough Road.

She was the wife of the late Bernard and mother of Hyacintha, Germaine, Liam, Casimir and Kieran.

Her funeral was on Saturday to St Peter’s Church following by interment at St Colman’s Cemetery.

Cissie Baxter

The death took place, in her 96th year, at Craigavon Area Hospital of Rebecca Jane (Cissie) Baxter.

She was the aunt of David, Maureen, Bobbie, Cecil, Billy, Joan and Doreen.

Her funeral service was in Moira Presbyterian Church on Monday followed by interment in the adjoining burial grounds.

Andrea Lavery

The death took place suddenly at home at Elmwood Terrace of Andrea Lavery (nee Bell) on March 17.

She was the mother of Caoimhe, daughter of Kevin and Gretta Bell and sister of Jacqueline, Martin, Kevin and Jason.

Her funeral was on Friday to St Peter’s Church followed by interment in St Colman’s Cemetery.

Jim Mallon

The death took place on March 23, peacefully at Aughnacloy House, of James (Jim) Mallon, formerly of Campbell Walk, Lurgan and Parknasilla Way, Aghagallon.

He was husband of the late Marie and father of Gary, Darren, Rory, Colin and Teresa.

His funeral was on Tuesday to St Patrick’s Church followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.
