Deaths in the community

The death took place suddenly on August 5 of Brian McConaghy, 20 Hill Court, Lurgan.

He was the father of Lisa and son of Joseph and Rose McConaghy, formerly of Lurgan Road, Aghagallon.

His funeral was on Wednesday of last week from the home of his sister, Una O’Kane, 30a Colane Road, Aghagallon, to St Patrick’s Church with interment in the adjoining cemetery.

John David Jones

The death took place peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on August 9 of John David Jones, 22 Lowtown Road, Waringstown.

He was the husband of Betty, father of Michael, Kerry, Lesley and Richard, father-in-law of Peter and a grandad.

His funearl was on Sunday to Tullylish Parish Church with interment in the adjoining graveyard.

May Allen

The death took place suddenly on August 10 at Seapatrick Care Home of May Allen, late of Victor Place, Dollingstown.

She was the wife of the late Dougie.

Her funeral service was on Tuesday in Malcomson’s Funeral home with interment in Lurgan Cemetery.

Dorothy Maxwell

Dorothy Maxwell, wife of Bobby, formerly of Portlec Place, Lurgan, died peacefully at hospital on August 10.

She was the mother of Mildred, mother-in-law of Andrew and grandmother of Joy and Elaine.

House and funeral were strictly private.

Helen Yvonne McElroy

Following a short illness Helen Yvonne McElroy died peacefully on August 9.

She was the wife of the late Eric, Magherana Park, Waringstown, and mother of Alan and Gordon.

She was the sister-in-law of Kenneth and Pat and aunt of Susan.

Her funeral was on Tuesday to Waringstown Presbyterian Church with interment in Newmills Presbyterian Church burying ground.

Tony McConville

The death took place peacefully at home on August 9 of Tony McConville, husband of Anne, 26 Wellington Street, Lurgan.

He was the father of Declan, Michael, Mel, Finbar, Anton and the late Conleth.

He was the father-in-law of Denise, Sandra, Caroline, Julia and Tracy and granddad of Michael, Ciara, Thomas, Niall, Maeve, Niamh, Bethan, Jessica, Jake, Casey and Toby.

Also regretted by his sister Eithne, brother Colum and family circle.

His funeral was on Monday to St Peter’s Church with interment in St Colman’s Cemetery.

Michael McKernan

The death took place peacefully at home on August 10 of Michael (Mick) McKernan, 23 Derry Lodge Manor, Lurgan.

He was the husband of Molly and father of Anne, Sinead, Michael, Kieran and Brian and grandfather of Matthew, Fiona, Tom, Emma, Michael, Christopher, Aine, Connor and Clare.

Father-in-law to Mary, Annette and the late Catherine he was the brother of the late Lil, Sean, Rosaleen, Ann and Josie.

His funeral was on Monday to St Patrick’s Church, Aghagallon, with interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Alan Lennon

The death took place suddenly at hospital following a short illness of Alan Lennon, 3 Margretta Close, Lurgan.

He was the partner of Linda, son of Jackie and the late Iris and brother of Derek, Paul, Gary and Joyce.

His funeral was on Wednesday from his home to Lurgan Cemetery.
