Deaths in the community

The death took place suddenly at her home at Taghnevan Close following a short illness of Elizabeth (Lily) Long (nee McGuigan) on Thursday, April 25.

She was the wife of the late James (Jim) Long. She is survived by her daughter Pauline, son Raymond, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Lily was one of eight children. She was the sister of Imelda and Hugh and the late Imelda, Eileen, Rita, Brian and John.

Her funeral was on Saturday, April 27 from her late residence to St Paul’s Church. She was buried in St Colman’s Cemetery.

Florence Uprichard

The death took place peacefully at hospital on May 6 of Florence Uprichard, late of Greenhill Park, Lurgan.

She was the wife of Samuel and mother of George, Jim and Brian.

Her funeral was on Thursday to Hill Street Presbyterian Church with interment in Lurgan Cemetery.

Eileen McCarron

Eileen McCarron, Portadown, and formerly of Tannaghmore West, Aghacommon, died peacefully on May 7 at St Francis Private Nursing Home.

She was the daughter of the late Charles and Sarah McCarron, sister of the late Patsy, John and Peggy and sister-in-law of Eileen McCann.

Also regretted by nieces Monica, Eileen and Mary, nephews John and Brendan and the entire Byrne family, nephews Michael and Johnny, niece Joanne and the entire McCarron family, Kinnego.

Her funeral was on Friday to St Patrick’s Church, Derrymacash, with interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Elizabeth Mary McCollum

The death took place suddenly on May 8 of Elizabeth Mary (Lily) McCollum, formerly of Flush Place, Lurgan.

She was the wife of the late Alec and mother of Ann.

Mary Tweedie

The death took place at hospital on May 8 of Mary (Maureen) Tweedie, Lime Grove, Lurgan.

She was the wife of James and mother of Linda, Tom and the late Jennifer.

Her funeral was on Saturday to Lurgan Free Presbyterian Church with interment in Lurgan Cemetery.

Margaret Donnelly

The death took place after a long illness on April 30 of Margaret Donnelly, nee Henry, wife of the late Eddie Donnelly, 37 Allenhill Park, Lurgan.

She was the mother of Margo (McDermott), mother-in-law of Peter and sister of Rosaleen (Doran) and the late Bridie (Thompson), Esther (McMahon) and Sammy.

Her funeral was to St Peter’s Church with interment in St Colman’s Cemetery.
