Deaths in the community

Thomas Dummigan

The death took place peacefully at Laganvale Nursing Home of Thomas Dummigan, 38 Sloan Street, Lurgan.

He was the son of the late Maggie and Barney Dummigan, brother of Brian, Gerard, Laurence, John and the late Jimmy, Frank and Lily (McMahon) and brother-in-law of Annie Dummigan.

His funeral was on Friday to St Paul’s Church with interment in St Colman’s Cemetery.

Desmond Lavery

Desmond (Dessie) Lavery, of 50 Wolfe Island Terrace, Derryymacash, died peacefully on December 12.

He was the husband of Sarah and father of Lillian, Martina, Kieran and Noel.

His funeral was on Saturday to St Patrick’s Church, Derrymacash, with interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Jim Moore

Formerly of Shankill, Lurgan, Jim Moore died in Australia on December 11.

He was the husband of Eileen, father of Cari, Colleen, Louise, Shauna and Siobhan and brother of Tony, Anne and Margaret and the late William.

Robert Alexander McCandless

The death took place suddenly at his home on December 14 of Robert Alexander McCandless, 4 Clover Braes, Donacloney.

He was the husband of Helen and father of Linda, Robert, George, David, Jim, Stephen and the late Helen.

His funeral was on Monday at Donacloney Presbyterian Church with interment in the adjoining churchyard.

Annie McKane

The death took place peacefully on December 15 at Drombane Nursing Home of Annie McKane.

She was the aunt of Pearl.

Her funeral was on Monday to Lurgan Free Presbyterian Church with interment in Donacloney Presbyterian burial ground.

William Lavery

William (Billy) Lavery, husband of Annie, 24 Campbell Walk, Lurgan, died peacefully at Craigavon Area Hospital on December 14.

He was the father of Anna-Marie, Liam and Damien and brother of Sheila, Lily, Rita, Margaret and Maud and the late Gerald and Sammy.

Also regretted by son-in-law Billy, daughters-in-law Caroline and Patricia and grandchildren Ronan, Conor, Aidan, Cerys, Alex, Jake and Molly.

His funeral was on Monday to St Peter’s Church with interment in St Colman’s Cemetery.

Patricia Smylie

The death took place suddenly on December 16 at Seapatrick Nursing Home of Patricia Smylie, of Laurencetown.

She was the daughter of the late William and Kathleen and sister of Jim, Paddy, Mary and Pauline.

Her funeral was on Wednesday to St Patrick’s Church, Loughbrickland, with interment in St Patrick’s Cemetery.
