Deaths in the community

The death took place on April 5 at Craigavon Area Hospital of Phyllis Margaret O’Rourke, nee McCloughan, 7 The Glen, Aghagallon.

She was the wife of Denis and mother of Martin, Christine and Colin.

Her funeral was last Wednesday to St Patrick’s Church followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Rita McParland

The death took place on April 6 of Rita McParland, nee Quinn, 81 Carrigart Manor, Craigavon, formerly of Ballyoran Terrace, Portadown, and Galbally.

She was the wife of Thomas, mother of Eugene, Orla, Emmet, Ronan and Shane and grandmother of Ciara.

Her funeral was last Thursday to The Church of St John the Baptist followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Esther Robinson

The death took place on April 6 of Esther Robinson, nee Holbeach, 725 Pinebank, Craigavon.

She was the wife of Vincent and sister of Ronald and Joseph.

Her funeral was last Wednesday to St Anthony’s Church followed by interment in the family burying ground at Maghery.

Margaret McLernon

The death took place peacefully at hospital on April 8 of Margaret (Peggy) McLernon, 53 Castor Bay Road, Lurgan.

She was the wife of the late William and mother of Anne and Liam.

Her funeral was on Saturday to St Peter’s Temporary Church followed by interment in St Colman’s Cemetery.

Ross Campbell Neil McKinley

The death took place peacefully at Craigavon Area Hospital on April 9 of Ross Campbell Neil McKinley, late of Donard Gardens, Lurgan.

He was the husband of Irene and father of Hazel, Barbara and the late Elizabeth Eve.

His funeral was on Sunday from his late home to Lurgan Cemetery.

Lydia McCarroll

The death took place peacefully at home on April 10 of Lydia (Lyda) McCarroll, Monroe Avenue, Lurgan.

She was the wife of the late James (Jim) and mother of Andrew, Stephen, George, Leslie and Mary.

Her funeral was on Tuesday to First Lurgan Presbyterian Church followed by interment in Lurgan Cemetery.

Suzanne McConaghy

The death took place peacefully at Donaghcloney Nursing Home on April 10 of Suzanne McConaghy, wife of the late Joseph, 14 St Patrick’s Avenue, Aghagallon.

She was the mother of Thomas, Gerald, Desmond, Maura and Colette.

Her funeral was on Tuesday to St Patrick’s Church followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Richard David Cooke

The death took place on March 15 of Richard David Cooke, 39 Newton Hall Gardens, Ashingdon, Essex.

He was the son of Maura, nee O’Reilly, formerly of Wellington Street, Lurgan, and the late Robert and brother of Victoria.

His funeral was on Tuesday to St Peter’s Temporary Church followed by interment in St Colman’s Cemetery.

Benedict Hickland

The death took place on April 12 at hospital of Benedict (Ben) Hickland, 34 Feumore Road, Ballinderry.

He was the husband of Mary Joe, father of Mark, Bill, Margaret and Sarah and brother of Rita (Marron), Henry and the late Bertie, Annie, Kathleen and Monica.

His funeral was on Wednesday to St Joseph’s Church, Glenavy, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.
