Deaths in the community this week

The death took place on February 4, suddenly, of Donal Kerr Jnr of Drumlin Drive, Lurgan.

He was the son of Roisin and the late Donal, father of Ciara and brother of Conall, Killian, Briege and Brendan.

His funeral was on Friday to St Paul’s Church followed by interment at St Colman’s Cemetery.

Brian Bell

The death took place peacefully at home at Avondale Manor, Craigavon of Brian Bell on February 5.

He was the son of Christopher and Rosemary and father of Mark and Caitlin. He was the brother of Corina, Lynsey, James, Paul and Shirley.

His funeral was on Saturday to St Anthony’s Church followed by interment in St Colman’s Cemetery.

Agnes Fleville

On February 6 the death took place peacefully at Craigavon Area Hospital of Agnes Patricia Fleville, of Ashgrove Avenue, Lurgan.

She was the mother of Thomas and Michael.

Her funeral was on Saturday to St Peter’s Church followed by interment at St Colman’s Cemetery.

Mary Hancock

The death took place on February 6, suddenly at home, of Mary Hancock (nee McConville) of Taghnevan Close, Lurgan.

She was wife of the late Eamonn and mother of Kathleen, Mary and Thomas.

Her funeral was on Saturday to St Paul’s Church followed by interment at St Colman’s Cemetery.

Gerry McAvoy

On February 6, Gerry McAvoy, died peacefully in his home at Soye Gardens, Lurgan, surrounding by his family.

He was uncle to Michael, Marian, Vincent, John, Paula, Jacqueline, Gary, Mark, Nicola and the late Rosemary and Lorraine.

His funeral was on Sunday to St Peter’s Church followed by interment at St Colman’s Cemetery.

Sydney McCrum

The death took place on February 6, suddenly, of Waringstown man Sydney McCrum.

He is deeply regretted by his wife Patricia, children Richard and Zoe, mother Edith, brothers David, Paul and Charles and family circle.

His funeral service was at Roselawn Crematorium on Monday.

John McAlinden

The death took place on February 7, peacefully at Craigavon Hospital, of John McAlinden of Drumlin Drive, Lurgan.

He was the husband of the late Mary, father of Martin, Catherine and Deirdre and grandfather of Ryan, Pierce and Emma.

James Cordner

The death took place peacefully on February 8 at Newry Hospice of James (Jim) Cordner, formerly of Gracey Drive, Lurgan.

He was husband to Irene and father of David, Jim and the late baby Diane.

His funeral was on Monday in St John’s Parish Church followed by interment at Lurgan Cemetery.

Damien McDonald

On February 8, Damien McDonald died peacefully at Craigavon Area Hospital.

The Ashgrove Park resident was husband of Mona and father of Stephen and Tracy.

His funeral was on Monday to St Peter’s Church followed by interment at St Colman’s Cemetery.

Noel Agnew

On February 8, the death took place peacefully at Craigavon Area Hospital of Noel Agnew, O’Neill’s Terrace, Lurgan.

He was the husband of Rosaleen and father of Maria, Tracy and David.

His funeral was on Tuesday to St Peter’s Church followed by interment at St Colman’s Cemetery.

Patricia Greer

The death took place on February 8 of Patricia Greer (nee McCreedy) from Ardowen, Craigavon.

She was the mother of Demelza and Angela and grandmother of Freddie, Bobby and Dexter.

Her funeral was on Tuesday to St John’s Church, Lylo followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Graham Douglas

The death took place peacefully on February 9 of Graham Douglas of Glenavon Crescent, Lurgan.

He was the husband of Irene, father of Elizabeth and Tom and brother of Freda and Rae.

At Lough Neagh Nursing Home on February 9, the death took place peacefully of Edward (Ned) McStay of Killaghy Road, Lurgan.

He was the husband of the late Vera and father of Eleanor, Noel, Sylvia, Frank and Gregory.

His funeral was on Wednesday to St Peter’s Church followed by burial in St Colman’s Cemetery.

Margaret Haddock

On February 9, peacefully at hospital, the death took place of Margaret (Peggy) Haddock of Glenavon Lane, Lurgan.

She was the wife of the late Sammy.

Her funeral was on Wednesday in Malcomson’s Funeral Home followed by burial in Lurgan Cemetery.

June McShane

On February 10 June McShane died peacefully at her 
home at Old Kilmore Road, Lurgan.

She was the wife of William and mother of Joyce, Barbara, Philip and Suzanne.

Her funeral service was at Lurgan Elim Church on Wednesday, followed by interment in Lurgan Cemetery.
